2Co 3_18 - You Are What You SeeSunday, 06/25/17 – 2 Corinthians 3:18 – “You Are What You See” – Outline (pdf) – The subtitle of this message is; “Your view of choice becomes your character of life.” In other words, what you choose to focus on in life changes you. We take on the characteristics of what we dwell upon. We are changed into the image of what we spend time focusing on. From 2 Corinthians 3:18 we see that in a glorious sense, when we gaze upon the glory of God we are changed into that same glorious image. As we meditate upon the Person of Christ we begin to display His characteristics in our life.

Mother's Day - 2017

Sunday, 05/14/17 – 1 Samuel 1 – “Hannah, A Woman of Grace” – Outline (pdf) – In this message, we consider Hannah and her sorrow that leads to singing. She was a woman who knew the great pains of life yet her sorrow was not without purpose. God used her barrenness to bring her to the place of brokenness so that He could bring about blessedness. Through her surrender, God blessed a nation through the impact of this Godly woman.

Sunday, 04/30/17 – Psalm 100 – “Godly Worship” – Outline (pdf) – In this message we consider what Godly worship looks like from Psalm 100.  From this psalm, we see the audience of our worship as well as our attitude in worship. Godly worship is rooted in a right view of God.

Marks of Mount Calvary

Sunday, 04/23/17 – John 12:1-8 – “Mary’s Extravagant Worship at Bethany” – Outline (pdf) – In this message, we conclude our look at the marks of Mount Calvary. Based upon how Mount Calvary was marked for us, how should we respond. From John 12 we see Mary’s extravagant worship as the proper response to the work of our Savior on our behalf. (“Marks of Mount Calvary”)

Sunday, 04/16/17 – John 19:30 – “Christ’s Extravagant Sacrifice at Calvary” – Outline (pdf) – In this message, we continue looking at the marks of Mount Calvary. Here we see that Mount Calvary was marked by sacrifice—Christ’s extravagant sacrifice. We consider our debt of sin and Christ’s payment of love through His perfect sacrifice. When we come to the cross and by faith receive Christ’s payment of love on our behalf, we can enjoy a relationship with Christ that God has always intended for us. (“Marks of Mount Calvary”)

Sunday, 04/09/17 – Isaiah 53 – “Christ’s Extreme Suffering for You & Me” – Outline (pdf) – In this message, we continue looking at the marks of Mount Calvary. Here we see that Mount Calvary was marked by suffering—Christ’s extreme suffering for you and me. Through a close look at Isaiah 53 we see the personal side of Christ’s suffering—He was wounded for me. This should bring us to sorrowing over what my sin did to my Savior. The beautiful reality is that the cross was never intended to leave us where it finds us. God in His grace and mercy desires to take us beyond the sorrow to see the joy of the cross. (“Marks of Mount Calvary”)

Sunday, 04/02/17 – Matthew 26:36-46 – “Christ’s Exhaustive Surrender at Gethsemane” – Outline (pdf) – In this message, we begin looking at the marks of Mount Calvary. Mount Calvary was marked by surrender—Christ’s exhaustive surrender of His own will to the will of the Father. We look at James 4 and consider the evidences of a hardened will followed by the evidences of a humbled heart. (“Marks of Mount Calvary”)
