PIBC 2021 THEME – “Fit for HIS Use” (2 Timothy 2:21-22) – Outline (pdf) From 2 Timothy 2:20​-22, we see our 2021 theme, “Fit for HIS Use.” In order to accomplish this purpose, we are to seek to be diligent in our purity, keeping from corrupting influences, and also intentionally pursue Christlike qualities with others who practice Christlike influence.


Sunday, 01/31/21 – Joshua 6 – “God’s Principles For Success In The Unknown Ahead—Confronting Jericho’s” – Outline (pdf) From Joshua 6, we see God’s promise for success in the unknown ahead is also realized through confronting our Jericho’s of thought. We must understand our problem of anti-God thinking that hinders our victory. We must rely upon God’s promise that encourages our victory. We must be obedient to God’s process that leads to victory. Cast Down the fortresses of thought by subduing them; captivate your thought processes by surrendering them; and capitulate to Christ by submitting to Him.


Sunday, 01/24/21 – Joshua 5 – “God’s Principles For Success In The Unknown Ahead—Renewed Priorities” – Outline (pdf) From Joshua 5, we see God’s promise for success in the unknown ahead is also realized through renewing the priorities of our faith. The covenant of our faith is renewed as our faith is marked by humility through obedience and dependence. The celebration of our faith is remembering God’s faithfulness. The Commander of our faith must be reestablished as we are reminded of God’s presence and preeminence.

We must be ruled by God; being reverent to God; reliant upon God; and repentant before God. As you step forward in faith, look forward with great anticipation to see the faithfulness of God.


Sunday, 01/03/21 – Joshua 2 – “God’s Principles For Success In The Unknown Ahead—Dynamic Faith” – Outline (pdf) From Joshua chapter 2, we see God’s principle for success in the unknown ahead is realized through dynamic faith. We must be diligent, not only to state our beliefs but, to show what we believe by “working out our own salvation with fear and trembling.” Showing our faith will then lead to opportunities to share what we believe with others.

We must be diligent to remember His promises and respond to His precepts. We must be confident because of His Word, obedient to His Word, directed by the Word, vocal with God’s Words, and daily in His Word.

It is a life characterized by proper sacrifice and state of mind. We are to have a sanctified dissatisfaction, a sole devotion, a single direction, and a steadfast determination.


Wednesday, 10/28/20 – Psalm 66:16-20 – “Come and Hear” – Outline (pdf) We consider God’s invisible finger in the pandemic. In this psalm, the anonymous psalmist recounts the goodness and faithfulness of God throughout Israel’s history. He then encourages those who hear to worship the Lord with him.


Sunday, 10/25/20 – Ephesians 6:14a – “The Warfare of the Believer”– Instruments (Part 2) – Outline (pdf)We continue our verse-by-verse study through the book of Ephesians: “Our Worthy Walk—Walking with the Lord to the Praise of His glory.” Our warfare is fought with the instruments of God. Our protection for the spiritual battles of life begins with truth. This phrase, “having your loins girt about with truth,” is a call for readiness which is being rooted in truth. To “gird” or fasten on the belt of “truth” is to be diligent in our preparation, determined in our pursuits, but also dedicated to truthfulness in our practice.

Sunday, 08/02/20 – “Behold the LAMB” – Communion Sunday – Outline (pdf) – We remember the perfect sacrifice of our Savior. “Where is the lamb?” leads us to “Behold the Lamb of God” and cry out in joyful praise, “Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honor, and glory, and blessing!” because He has come to “take away the sin of the world.” May this be a practical reality in our lives each day.

Our worthy walk is marked by Spirit-filled ministry mindedness. We are to walk in Step with the Spirit, submitting to Christ’s Spirit in You. The characteristics of a Spirit-filled walk are evidenced as grace on your lips, gratitude in your heart, and gentleness toward your relationships as you serve others in submission to God.

As we “walk as children of light” we are to bear the fruit that give proof of authentic Christianity in praise to our God.

Our worthy walk forward is marked by loving ministry mindedness. We are to “do the work of the ministry” in our horizontal relationships, by faithfully following the pattern that Christ set for us. We are to be motivated by a loving gratitude for His loving sacrifice on our behalf. Our love for others is to be an act of worship—a sweet-smelling savor that is pleasing to our Heavenly Father.

Our worthy walk is marked by a unified ministry. With a renewed vision, we must have a right view of ourselves, God, others, and the Church. “Endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.” God has provided the church with gifted ministers for the purpose of gospel ministry. Through the ministry of God’s Word, every believer is equipped and edified for and expected to be involved in the “work of the ministry.”

A “just man walks in his integrity: his children are blessed after him.” A Godly legacy is shaped by humility being a teachable Timothy. It is a heart that is anchored in the truths of God’s Word and a life that active in leading as they follow Christ.


Sunday, 06/14/20 – John 14:25-27 – “Believing Is Seeing” (Part 7) – Outline (pdf) – Jesus’ message about the comforter is the roadmap to triumphant Christianity. To those who display their love for Christ in loving obedience will enjoy the assurance of these profound and heavenly promises. Believing is truly seeing with the eye of faith. It is a life where our faith in Christ is on display for all our Jerusalem to see and in turn believe.


Sunday, 06/07/20 – John 14:19-24 – “Believing Is Seeing” (Part 6) – Outline (pdf) – Here in John 14, we continue our study of “Believing Is Seeing.” In verses 19-24 we consider the continuation of Jesus’ message about the Comforter with the promises to be enjoyed. He promises a life-giving relationship in which He declares His commitment to give His followers the same quality of life that He enjoys. This is followed by His promise of a loving relationship filled with the loving presence of the indwelling Trinity.


Sunday, 05/31/20 – John 14:16-18 – “Believing Is Seeing” (Part 5) – Outline (pdf) – In John 14:16-18 we consider Jesus’ message about the comforter as He continues with promises to be enjoyed within a loving and obedient Spiritual relationship. The presence of the Holy Spirit enables the believer to live a life of loving obedience. This promise is marked by the Spirit’s encouraging and continual presence, along with His guiding and comforting presence.


Sunday, 05/24/20 – John 14:15 – “Believing Is Seeing” (Part 4) – Outline (pdf) – Jesus’ message about the comforter begins with a precept to be obeyed. This message of comfort focuses on a loving Christ with a love that obeys. Genuine love for Christ is displayed in obedience to His commands. We see that we are to supremely love God which leads to sacrificially loving others.


Sunday, 05/17/20 – “Our Walk In God’s Delight” (Psalm 37) – Outline (pdf) Our walk in God’s delight is a walk of putting off sin, renewing the spirit of our mind with truth, and putting on Christlikeness. It is marked by being stabilized, satisfied, surrendered, still, and submissive. It is rooted in a Biblical understanding of Who God is and what He does.


Sunday, 05/10/20 – “A Mother’s Faith” (Exodus 2:1-10) – Outline (pdf) A mother’s faith is far-reaching in its impact. It takes courage, commitment, and sacrifice. It is weathered in the schoolhouse of suffering, yet God intends to display it far beyond her years. Mom, please don’t ever underestimate the influence that God has given you. Step forward in faith as you journey along the path of motherhood with your eyes fixed on the Lord and your head bowed in prayer. Trust Him with the heart of your child for “He is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think” (Ephesians 3:20).


Sunday, 05/03/20 – John 14:7-14 – “Believing Is Seeing” (Part 3) – Outline (pdf) – In this message, we consider how we can apply God’s Word to the current storm we find ourselves in. Jesus’ message of comfort for a triumphant heart is rooted in the person of Jesus but also continues as we rest in His power and promises. Jesus wants His followers to have triumphant faith as they keep on believing—as they keep on renewing their minds with the truths of Jesus, therefore having a practical, working knowledge of the Person of Christ.

Jesus’ message of comfort for a triumphant heart is rooted in the Person of Jesus. A troubled heart turns triumphant by knowing and resting in the truth of Who Jesus is.
